North Scottsdale Dental Studio is thrilled to announce that Dr. Todd Mabry was honored with a “Smile Makeover Award” for the dental care he provided to reformed inmates as part of Smiles Beyond the Bars! Dr. Mabry—who is a board member of Smiles Beyond the Bars—is extremely appreciative of the recognition, and he feels blessed to be in the position to make such a positive difference in the lives of people in need.
Smiles Beyond the Bars is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to change the lives of formerly incarcerated women and men by improving the appearance of their smiles. Most of the reformed inmates need extensive dental work such as dental implants or full arch restorations due to tooth loss caused by poverty, drugs, or prison life. Performed by top oral care professionals in the community, the smile makeovers former inmates receive help them to gain the confidence they need to successfully transition back into productive members of society.
“It takes a great dental team to help these patients get back into society and be able to smile,” Dr. Mabry says of his experience. “I am so lucky to be able to impact and improve someone’s life so they have a chance to succeed. My dental team and I benefit from being able to meet these patients and see not only the transformation in their smiles, but also the transformation in their personal confidence.”
